First batch of 2,600 Agniveers all set to join Indian Navy

The Indian Navy is set to welcome the first batch of Agniveers from INS Chilika in Odisha. The passing out parade took place in Chilika, and included 2,600 freshly recruited Agniveers, including 273 women. These individuals underwent 16 weeks of rigorous training at INS Chilika in preparation for their induction into the Indian Navy.

The passing out parade was attended by the Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Harikumar as the chief guest. Also in attendance were renowned athlete and President of the Indian Olympics Association, P T Usha, and former captain of the Indian Women's Cricket Team, Mithali Raj. The event was also attended by a large number of defense personnel, special invitees, and the parents and guardians of the Agniveers.

Despite initial negative narratives surrounding the Agniveers scheme, the passing out parade showcased the cool confidence of these young individuals, eager to serve their motherland. The presence of their proud parents and guardians made this historic moment one to be cherished for a long time to come.
