Sajibu Cheiraoba

Sajibu Cheiraoba is a festival celebrated by the Meitei community in Manipur, a state in northeast India. It is observed on the first day of the Meitei calendar month of Sajibu, which usually falls in the month of April in the Gregorian calendar.

On this day, people clean their homes, wear new clothes, and visit their relatives and friends to exchange greetings and sweets. They also offer prayers to their deities and ancestors for their blessings and well-being.

A significant aspect of Sajibu Cheiraoba is the 'Sajibu Nongma Panba' or the Meitei New Year feast, where people prepare and share traditional delicacies with their loved ones. The festival is a symbol of unity, harmony, and cultural richness of the Meitei community.
